The effect of powder particle size on coating properties is as follows:
First, powder coating

The coating powder is finely divided into organic polymer particles, which generally contain pigments, fillers and additives which are finely divided when stored under appropriate conditions and stored. In contrast to waterborne coatings, waterborne coatings may contain volatile organic solvents that achieve the same or better properties as waterborne coatings, such as good quality, durability, and corrosion resistance. Production costs are lower than liquid coatings because the production of powder coatings is an efficient process and requires less energy and labor. Because powder coatings do not have volatile organic solvents, its more attractive benefits are the elimination of organic solvent emissions and reduced waste disposal costs.
